Wynn Las Vegas is an elegant resort that was built in 2005 to the tune of $2.7 billion. Created by none other than Steve Wynn, Las Vegas' master developer, it's nothing short of perfect. After all, perfect is what you expect - and also what you get - when you stay at a Five Star, Five Diamond resort. Wynn Las Vegas features approximately 110,000 square feet of casino, in which are nearly 2,000 slot machines and about 200 gaming tables. It has a golf course, a spa and a shopping esplanade that includes such high-end retail notables as Chanel, Graff Jewelers and Oscar DeLaurenta. Here, you can pretty much do or find anything you want. You can also eat anything you want, as the resort is home to a plethora of fine dining establishments, including Italian, Asian, Steak, Seafood and French. You have a lot of options, but one in particular - Alex - stands out as the resort's signature restaurant. Named for its award-winning chef, Alessandro Stratta, Alex is what eating at the Wynn is all about.

Alex is located within Wynn Las Vegas, away from the hubbub of the casino. When you approach its entrance you know you've reached something special, as its name is emblazoned in gold letters that hang off of a drop ceiling over a polished floor that's populated by gorgeous greenery and ornate lamps with gold colored stems, on top of which are frosted cylindrical lampshades. Upon opening the elegantly etched glass doors into the restaurant, you are transported into a very elegant dining adventure. The top level within the multilevel restaurant is devoted to the bar and lounge area. To the right as you enter, the bar is outfitted with three rows of open cabinets, which are backlit in order to show off the liquor bottles inside them. The bar itself, at the end of which is the hostess station, sits beneath four beautifully ornate chandeliers. It's a lovely place to have an aperitif, either before or after your meal.
